five lovely children

How wonderful and lovely is this label?
Especially when its sewn into a beautiful birthday gift, for me!
My friendships are very very important to me.  They save my sanity. I cannot go a single day without some
sort of 'friend contact'.
But this label got me thinking.
It got me thinking that I love labels in general.
Heres a few of my favorites:

There are so many more too, just not enough time.
Vintage, personal, new, I love pretty labels, do you?

Sweet dreams

job centre plus

Cruising shoes.

Ever so cute.

Today we bought number three her first pair of shoes.

Although I love shoes and have been itching to buy her a pair I actually don't believe little babies should get shoes too early. We only bought a pair because of the amount of slippy accidents we've had recently.

Wooden floors. Bet babies wouldn't choose them.

Heres hoping for less bumps!

On the crafty front, my year long blanket for baby is growing, slowly!

Stripy, stripy, day by day. I feel lucky if I get one row a day completed.

It will be a single bed blanket someday soon.

Probably just in time for the move to a 'big bed'.

The drugs don't work

As many of you will know my littlest daughter was baptized not long ago. For me it was a wake up call to my beliefs, it's been a long time since I took communion.

The day started off rather murky and ended rather murky. But that was just the weather. Speaking for myself only, the day was wonderful. My littlest daughter wore the gown, as worn by biggest daughter, as worn by mummy, as knitted by Gran.

An heirloom if ever there was one.

A beautifully knitted gown, an absolute treasure. I am honored to possess it.

Yes, I know its sideways, I just couldnt flip it round for some reason.

Of course a baptism wouldnt be a baptism without the special people in your lives and I like to think that all my special people were there. Family and friends alike.

When I came home that evening I truly felt blessed. The friends I really care about had made a massive effort for me. And without mentioning names am sure you know who you are J, L, A, S.

All my children have been baptised in the same church, all have had different parties afterwards. This one was the cheapest and the best!

Heres hoping the godparent curse doesnt follow through this time :))

giving in

My guilty pleasure. I love these nails. When I have more money I am going to get these!

Already watching quite a few old keys on ebay!

ANyhow.

After a pretty rotten day yesterday I am feeling muuuch better today.

Yesterday was spent doing gentle things, things that didnt require my wobbly legs to do much. We even had pizza for Sunday Dinner.

I eventually managed to conquer the waterfall braid. Everyone makes it look so easy but for me, notoriously bad at 'hair', its taken a while.

I

like

it

a lot.

Just wish I could do it on my own hair ;)

The Pillow Books, as I have decided to call them, have been made and are already proving to be a hit. Am finding myself hoping the novelty wears off soon and the messages become a bit more 'spaced'!

Before I show ours I must give credit to http://www.tipgarden.blogspot.com/ for giving me the idea.

The basic idea with these books is that they are a notebook you share with your child, a secret notebook where you can each write down messages or feelings to each other, about anything at all, even if they are having troubles and need to talk.

Start by writing your child a note and leave it on her pillow. Your child then holds onto the notebook for as long as s/he wants and when s/he wants to leave you a note s/he writes something and sneaks the notebook onto your pillow. This doesnt need to be on a regular or set schedule but it may be helpful to grab the notebook back if its been a while!

A beautiful idea I'm sure you'll agree.

Ours are off to a flying start.

Happy Weekend.

money for nothing

Am absolutely loving being a member of pinterest. Such beautiful, beautiful ideas and ideals. Take a look and join in, I've only been a member for a few hours and have already taken from it the idea of a 'Pillow Talk' book. Tomorrow we are off to the shops to buy a few notebooks to transform into pillow talk books. Will show you our progress then.

In the meantime can I show you my latest bargain?

My jaw nearly hit the floor when shop owner told me it was £1!!!!!!!!!!!!

In perfect condition and matches the other two I already own that were my mums.

However, silly me. It nearly cost me a whole lot more.

For some reason I forgot to pay the car park fees?!?

Just parked the car, got baby out and walked off.

Realised about an hour later that I had TOTALLY forgotten to pay for parking.

But, like I said, 2012 is my year. The traffic warden was no where to be seen.

Go Mommy.

Go Mommy.

Poplin Cable Beanie

I am ever so chuffed. The hat worked, perfectly first time, no frogging. Am in the process of writing out the pattern and casting on number two! 2012 is my year. Speaking of which, 2011 passed by without a mention, 2011 was horrible all but for one thing. My precious little baby number 3 was born. Can't believe she's nearly 1 now.

Genius

Today I feel epic.
I have, so far, managed to copy a hat pattern from just looking at the hat, if you know what I mean?!?! Worked out how many to cast on, how the cables work, size of needles and thickness of yarn. Will upload photos as soon as I figure it out on iPhone!!!

Starting again

Think I might start blogging again. Lost my voice for quite a while. See if I can get my mojo back.
